Solution
This project began with extensive user research to better understand both the current and ideal audiences for Technology Learning. I mapped user journeys and identified potential pain points, which were then categorized by level of effort vs. rate of return to prioritize solutions effectively.
To guide implementation, I proposed a phased approach aligned with bi-weekly goals. This allowed for regular stakeholder check-ins, feedback loops, and sign-offs, ensuring alignment throughout the process.
For the overarching Technology Learning site, I intentionally aligned the visual design with the ULearn brand, using consistent colors and design elements to reinforce that Technology Learning is a branch of ULearn, not a separate entity. To subtly differentiate it, I created a unique sub-logo that also serves as a unifying visual across all Technology Learning platforms.
An in-depth UX analysis of the existing SharePoint site revealed several opportunities for improvement. I provided actionable recommendations grounded in UX best practices—ranging from simplifying language and eliminating jargon to restructuring navigation and redesigning page layouts for clarity and usability.
While SharePoint isn’t my preferred platform for site design, it was a required tool for this project. I’m proud of how I was able to push the boundaries of SharePoint’s limitations, delivering a modern, clean, and user-friendly experience that feels custom rather than templated.
This is an ongoing project. I'm excited to continue building out the rest of the site, transform the PowerApp platform currently used as a course library, and eventually merge both platforms into a single, unified tool—eliminating confusion and creating a seamless learning experience for users.
